Episode 81

To say that I’m glad that Meh is back in this house and back in my life is an understatement.
That’s my wife. And she makes my house make sense. She understands and manages the chaos in my house. With Hopolang and Keamohetsoe being back in the house post Phemello’s passing, it hasn’t been an easy time. Hopolang is a bit resistant of Meh. But Meh doesn’t give up on him. I’ve even spoken to my mother about taking Hopolang and living with him because he will end up influencing Tshepo and Amo. But Meh said no. She told me that her challenge was Phemello and Lerato. Lerato took her kids and is living with them in South Africa. Phemello passed away. So we will deal with each kid in this house as if they came out of Meh’s womb. That’s what she told me.
She takes the boys on an early morning walk every morning. I know she hates exercising, but because my boys are into sports, she tries to connect with them there. Meh told me that Hopolang wants to try out for the NFR Legends. She asked kgosikgadi to ask Regent Reahile for tips on how to get in. Imagine the lengths she’s gone to. Now, Hopolang is training to try out for the Legends. When I say that he’s A LOT nicer to Meh, I’m not kidding. He is trying out on New Year’s Eve.
The regent has scheduled a session for Hopolang with the current players before his try outs. He is working hard, trying to keep to a diet and reading up on all things football. He asked for a TV in his bedroom. Meh asked me if he watches porn. I found it to be very funny. But every time we sneak in on him or track what he’s watching, he’s watching football… old and recent games of various teams.
The other two are also into soccer, but they are in a local club’s junior team. When it’s their turn, we will go through these lengths too for them. But my boys are happier. And I’m happy for them. I don’t know why Meh doesn’t want to have kids. She’s a natural homemaker.
I’m busy getting ready for work. I’ve been off since Phemello outed me with traditional medicine bra. But now I’m at a point where I can work a full day again. And I have to work to make up for all my off days.
I head into the kitchen and find Hopolang telling Meh about his training. Meh is telling him that he needs to rest. He says he will, but he wants a good try out.
“Good morning”, I greet them.
“Hi dad”, Amo (short for Keamohetsoe) and Tshepo greet me. Hopolang also greets me.
“You back at work, love?” Meh asks me.
“Yeah. I’ve been off for over a month now. I have to work it back”, I tell her.
“Okay. Will you still be able to come with us on New Years Eve?” She asks me.
“I will. I might work in the morning though, missing Hopolang’s try out session”, I say.
“It’s a closed training session anyway, so it’s cool.” He says.
“So where will I be waiting for you?” Meh asks him.
“Outside”, he says.
Okay.
“Well okay. Then I’ll meet up with you guys after I knockoff and we will all drive down together”, I say.
“Okay. Well, you guys need to hurry up so we can get going”, Meh says.
“Where are you going?” I ask.
“Regent has asked Hopolang to join him for his training workout this morning”, Meh says.
“FOR REAL?!” Hopolang is about to faint.
I smile at them.
“Can we also join?” Tshepo.
“You can. But he will be helping your brother for his try outs, so he will focus on him a lot more okay?” Meh manages the younger ones.
The younger ones celebrate anyway.
“YOU ARE THE BEST, MME-MEH! THANKS”, Hopolang says, even hugging Meh.
Meh is happy to be making a breakthrough.
“Go get ready then. Training starts at 5am”, she says.
It is 4:15am right now. I’m also confused about why everyone is up. I have work. Hopolang usually trains in the morning. Maybe the other two heard noise and movement then woke up too.
The boys are getting ready, so it’s just Meh and I now.
“Thank you, baby”, I say to her as I kiss her.
“We are making progress. We will get there”, she says.
“I think we are already there”, I say.
“Don’t get my hopes up.”
We laugh.
“Are you feeling okay? Like really okay and ready to be back to work?” She asks me.
“I’m good, baby. I promise. If I feel weak at any point in the day, I’ll come home”, I tell her.
“You promise?” Her.
I kiss her and nod my head.
“Your mom gave us a go-ahead for the lobola date. It will be end of January”, I tell her.
She smiles at me.
“I love you, Meh. And I will do my best to be an ideal husband to you”, I tell her.
She smiles at me, then kisses me.
“Your brothers’ wives asked us to be together for New Years Eve. When I told them what we will be doing, they asked me if I could include them. I managed to get them tickets too. So we will be going together. I’ll bring my mom up end of this week. She will chill with your mom while we party”, she tells me.
I hug her, kiss her, quickly have coffee, then I leave.
…
Work is weird.
I don’t know what Meh told these people is wrong with me, but I have a whole program scheduled by HR to reintegrate me into work. I was told – a million times – that my job is in no way threatened. Then apparently, I was out on some temporary disability program that paid me out a lump sum of money for an illness. So I spend time stopping my payment from that temp disability thing. I decide to go on my banking app and check these payments. I had to get a new phone because my phone went missing with everything that was going on.
Indeed, a lump sum of R437 280 was paid from that disability thing. Well this is my wedding money. I’ll pay for her lobola and the entire wedding.
I make my way to my kitchen and at least try to get some stuff going. I was told that I should work at my pace. They are letting me knock off an hour earlier for the first week back.
My team is excited to have me back, which is nice. But there is one person who is not happy. This person is a temp who was standing in for me. I guess he thought that if I died, the job would be his.
So now I definitely claim my position back and prep the lunch and dinner meals. I’ll even work extra hours.
During my next break, I decide to check my bank account again. The temp disability thing paid me 75% of my salary on top of my lump sum. I just thought I wasn’t getting paid at all.
So I use this time to pay off debt I’m behind on, then put aside R100 000 for the lobola. I then send Meh R300 000.
She phones me IMMEDIATELY!
I actually laugh first.
I’m trying to be a man that she will always trust. I’ve been shit all my life. She’s my chance at being the complete opposite of that.
“My love?” I answer my phone.
“T, I just got a lot of money sent to me from you. Are you okay?” She says.
“I’m good, love”, I say. I then explain to her everything that’s happened since I got to work. I then tell her to plan the wedding with that money.
She’s so shocked.
“Let me be to you at least half of what you’ve been to me, my love”, I say.
“Thank you, baby. And I love you. Try to take it easy. Okay?” She says.
“I will.” I say.
“I’m going to send you pictures of Hopolang training with the regent and his friends today. He was so happy. But I’ve got them a private taxi to take them home now. They called to let me know they are safe and at home. I checked with sisi at home. She said they are asleep”, she tells me.
“You are an incredible mother, Meh. You truly are”, I tell her. She has to know.
“You make me an incredible mom”, she says.
I know she’s lying, but I don’t say anything.
“I’ll see you later, okay?” Me.
“Shup”, her.
We hang up.
I get back to work and put in a full shift and a quarter of the next shift.
I leave just after 8pm.
When I get home at 8:30pm, dishes are being washed. My boys are doing it, which makes me happy.
“Hey boys”, I greet them.
“Hey pops”, they greet me back.
They start telling me about their day before I go further into the house.
I see Meh coming into the kitchen with my slippers. She lets me take off my shoes and nurses my feet to slippers. She then takes my bag from me too. She prepares my dinner in the kitchen, on the kitchen island, and I sit here and listen to my boys tell me about how fun their day was.
I’m marrying a queen. That much I can confirm.
When I’m done eating, I tell them that I want to give their mother a few minutes. For the first time EVER – they don’t fight me for referring to Meh as their mother.
I get to the bedroom and I find Meh waiting for me dressed in green lingerie. I get hard instantly.
I close and lock the door.
She puts her index finger on her mouth, telling me to keep quiet.
I nod my head.
She walks towards me.
I’m so weak!
She seductively undresses me.
Fuck!
She starts giving me a blow job.
I never expected this. I’m too weak for such surprises!
Before I know it, I’m lying on my back on the bed and she’s riding me like a stallion. I guess I’m too loud because she puts her thong in my mouth to shut me up.
I’m going to explode!
I’m going to explode!
I’m going to explode!
She cums with me!
My eyes see stars…
I’m so dizzy…
My entire being feels so vulnerable…
“Thank you for choosing me”, she whispers in my ear.
I’m so weak!
Wow!
She’s just made me feel like a little boy.
“Papa”, I hear my boys calling me.
I try to gather myself.
“Papa, are you okay?” I hear Tshepo say.
Shit. They heard all of that?
“I’m alright boys”, I manage to say.
