Episode 44

I’m sneaking into my girlfriend’s house because her parents are staying with her for some time. I don’t understand why we must behave like kids. My mom doesn’t treat me like this and I actually have sex in her house. Lulu now wants us to creep sneak like some teenagers in HER own house. Hai suka!

We finally get to the bedroom and we can breathe and stop walking like mice. Tomorrow morning, I’m making a noise on purpose. These parents are not going to come here and do this to us. Hai suka

“Babe, why are you so upset?” She even has the nerve to ask me that.

“Upset? I’m not upset. I’m annoyed. Do your parents not know that you have sex?”

“Khotso, they are my parents. I have to respect them.”

“How are you not respecting them? You are not having sex in their house. This is your house. And I’m not a random hook up. I’m your boyfriend. What do they think we do when we are together?”

“I’m sure they don’t think about it. Just like I don’t ever want to think about them having sex even though I know they do.”

“That’s your business. But I’m not going to be doing this tiptoe shit. If we have to do this now that they are here, we can either start sleeping over at my place or we get your parents a house of their own.”

“First of all, we are in this position because of your crazy grandmother. Now, you want me to keep moving my parents around because it’s uncomfortable for you to respect them? Do you see me bitch and moan about how uncomfortable it was for me to be running across the Vaal with a scared child while I was shit scared myself because I had to make sure that Mohale was okay while risking my parents’ lives? The least you could do is respect their presence in this house.”

I look at her.

She’s really upset.

“I’m still fucken limping from the injury I sustained with all of that running, and you are already annoying me because you want to have sex in the kitchen and my parents being here is inconveniencing your penis? Hai fokof mahn!”

She takes off her gown and gets into bed. She’s so sexy. But I can’t just be all over her because she needs to know that I’m not going to tolerate her speaking to me like that. I take off my shoes, undress myself and get into the bed in my underwear. She faces the other way.

“I thought we promised each other that we wouldn’t go to bed upset at each other”, I say.

“Khotso, you still won’t talk to me about why your grandmother called out a hit on a child. A child, Khotso! Her great grandson. You still won’t talk to me about probably the most traumatic thing that I’ve just been through. You asked me to trust you to deal with it and I must trust you blindly, even though it almost cost me the life of my parents. Now it’s too much for you to just adjust to accommodate them? This is not even a permanent situation. My brother and I are trying our best to move as fast as we can. I’m using every cent that was paid to me for the limited series to hurry the process because the house wasn’t insured. Why can’t you be a little understanding just as you expect me to understand that risking my life is not reason enough for you to be honest with me?” She says.

Yerrr! This is quite the feisty one.

“Baby, come here. Please.” I say. I want us to talk about this and I want her to look at me as we talk.

She’s hesitant.

“Come. Please, my love.” I say.

She finally gives in and sits on top of me, facing me.

I brush her thighs as we talk, “I’m sorry. I just don’t want to feel like I’m breaking the law when I’m supposed to be relaxed and happy with you. I love you, Lulu.”

She laughs.

Her entire family calls her Lulu. I also want to call her Lulu.

“And I’m sorry I was being difficult, okay.”

She smiles at me.

“Now, tell me why I’m only hearing about this insurance thing now? Why didn’t you come to me and tell me that you needed help with rebuilding your parents’ house?”

“I just didn’t know how to, babe. I don’t want to come across as being with you for your money.”

“So, who should I spend my money with if my partner doesn’t want to spend it with me?”

“Khotso, I just –

“Lulu, I’m going to marry you one day. My life with you has already started. Your challenges are my challenges now. You need to talk to me so that we can get through things together.”

“I’m sorry. I just-

“No baby, I’m yours. Talk to me. Use my money. Who else is supposed to use it if you don’t want to? I wanted you to spoil yourself with that money that you earned. You worked hard for it.  Now you are telling me you have nothing left of it because you had to rebuild a house that my family was indirectly responsible for burning down?”

“You know I don’t blame you, right?”

“But you should at least let me help you rebuild it.”

She’s quiet. She just looks at me.

“I’m going to speak to Maboko. He has a construction company. I’ll ask him to sort out the rebuilding of the house and I’ll pay for it.” I say.

“Babe –

“I’m already dialling him.” I say as I dial Maboko’s number.

“It’s 11pm, Khotso.”

“He’s still awake.”

“Probably having sex with his wife”.

I laugh.

Sho!” Maboko answers his phone.

Sho. Eh monna, I need a favour.”

Shup! What’s up?”

“Can your company please rebuild Lulu’s parents’ house?”

“Yeah, we can.”

“How soon can you start?”

“I’ll send out a team tomorrow to go and do inspections. Is there a plan that we can work with as far as how we want the house to look?”

I look at her to answer him.

“Hi Maboko.”

“Hi Lulu.”

She laughs. Yep, we all call her Lulu now.

“My parents are asleep at the moment. I can ask them in the morning?”

“I’ll bring an architect with me to your house tomorrow morning. He will also advise on the best way to rebuild after my inspectors have been to the house and given us a report. Would that work for you?”

“I’d appreciate that. Can we do it in the evening? It will give my brother an opportunity to drive down and be here for that conversation.”

“Sure. No problem.”

“Thanks so much”, she says.

“No problem. See you tomorrow.”

Maboko hangs up.

Lulu smiles at me and she hugs me in excitement.

We chat a bit for a few minutes as I massage her ankle and thighs. She has injuries in these places from all that running that she had to do. As I rub her, she falls asleep. I watch her fall asleep. I just know that she is going to be my wife. I love her.

I use a blanket to cover her, so she doesn’t get cold. Then I make a R3 million payment into Maboko’s business account. I have it because he does construction for all things that we need at the royal house and for the government. I send him proof of payment and say,

Thanks, brother. I really appreciate this. Please give them whatever they want from that house… and fast. I can’t keep sneaking into my girl’s house.”

He sends me a text message back and says, “You are such a fool. Lol.”

I’m sneaking out in the morning yet again. This is honestly ridiculous. But hey, I hope Maboko will pull through for me and have that house ready in no time.

I kiss my girlfriend goodbye then I dash out because we have to meet up today and solve what happened to Lulu and Mohale.

I get to the royal house and find Ona smoking outside. He is upset and he has blood on his fists.

“And then?” I ask him.

“We are waiting for you. Let’s go”, he throws his cigarette bud on the floor and stamps on it then he leads me to the chambers. I get there and I find Mathabo and Thandeka – Pule’s and Kefe’s mother – sitting on electrocution chairs. I greet Uncle Shaka and morena, then I look at these women. Legoa is also in here and when I see him, I greet him.

“Reahile gave me insurance when we were married. He told me his family is a batch of evil people who will always come after him because he was the rightful king. He told me that if I were ever in trouble with the royal house, I could use it to save my life.” Thandeka tells us.

She looks like hell!

“It’s bad things, Mohato. Things that will cost us this throne. When Thandeka brought that file to me and told me she would submit it to the police if she didn’t get her revenge, I panicked.” Mathabo adds.

“So, her revenge was what? Killing Mohale?” I ask.

“I wanted all of you to hurt for murdering my children. You murdered my kids and left my grandchild without a mother or an uncle.” Thandeka says.

“And because you are stupid, your grandchild is about to lose a grandmother too. I’m sure the system will raise her very well in welfare.” Morena says.

“Please! No! Please! She doesn’t deserve this.”

“And my grandson deserved you killing him because you wanted us to hurt? When Reahile was busy badmouthing us to you during your pillow talk, didn’t he tell you that when you take a shot at a king, you better not miss? Because if you miss, the king will kill you.” Morena says and Thandeka just cries, wails even.

Mathabo is just sitting there looking at all of us.

“And wena mme, how could you? Of all the things that you’ve ever done, this one takes the cake. You were prepared to kill my grandson?” Morena says to Mathabo.

“I was prepared to save this throne no matter the cost. We fought a hard and painful fight for this throne and now we must give it up because you make stupid mistakes and even more stupid decisions every time your penis dips out of Kearabetsoe. Everything is about Kea, the twins that shouldn’t even exist in a royal house and that damn grandson that you’ve decided alongside with twins that shouldn’t even be here that he cannot take the throne. Mohato, what is wrong with you?”

“This is my family, mme!”

“You have made a mockery of this royal house every time you’ve put Kearabetsoe and these twins first. Killing Mohale wouldn’t be the worst thing that we would have done to save the culture of this throne.”

I’m going to kill this magogo myself. I swear!

My mom walks into the chambers as morena pulls a gun out on his mother.

“Mohato, don’t do this.” My mother says and we are all shocked.

“If you do this, you will strip yourself off all humanity. I can’t let you do this. Your mother is the one thing that keeps you human. Every time I see you love and defend her – no matter how much I hate her – I’m reminded that there’s still a human being inside of you. I’m begging you, Mo. Don’t kill your mother. Or else even I will be scared of you.” She says.

“She crossed a line, Kea. She put Mohale’s life on the line. She doesn’t put a limit to the things she would do to get her way. Why must I put a line on the measures that I take to discipline her? She’s the one who makes me soft. She’s the one who will make me a man not worthy of respect if she walks after crossing me the way that she has.” Morena says this as he cries.

My mom nods her head then she says, “Give me the gun. I’ll pull the trigger.”

What?!

Yey! Yey! Yey!

“Kea –

Uncle Shaka tries, but he is cut short when my mom says, “I always knew that I’d have to be the one who kills this woman. She has done nothing but cause me pain. I just couldn’t go through with it because I could never bring myself to hurting Mohato like that. But in that, I’ve failed my children as their mother and I’ve almost failed my grandson. Now that I have Mohato’s permission, I’m pumping bullets in your head, bitch! And wena Thandeka, I never thought Reahile was an issue between us. But you are just a fly that can never go away and stay away from me. Now you’ve also come for my grandson?”

Hey wena, Rabi –

“I wasn’t opening the floor for a conversation, Thandeka. I’m just being kind enough to inform you and your partner in crime over here on why you will be dying today.”

My mom woke up feeling like a beast today.

“Give me the gun, Mohato.” My mom says.

“Babe, I can’t let you do this. Killing someone is not what you think it is and I cannot risk your humanity like that. I’m sorry.” Morena says to my mom. Then he looks at bishop and says, “Bishop, take care of both of them. It’s time my mom leaves this earth now. She’s overstayed her welcome and she’s beginning to show it.”

As he leads us out of the chambers, Thandeka says, “Mohato!”

We all look at her.

“My granddaughter… What will happen to her?”

“Any surviving family members that you are nominating as her guardian? You know her step-mother will murder faster than the system”.

She silent.

“Five! Four! Three! Two –

“Serathi. Please make sure she gets to Serathi.” Thandeka says.

“We will do our research on Serathi. You and your family have a thing of leaving unnecessary loose ends. If she is also in possession of information to save her from us, I’ll kill her and put that granddaughter of yours into child prostitution. Do you understand me?”

Brutal!

“But if she’s clean, I’ll grant you your dying wish.” He says.

As we walk out of the chambers, we hear the electric chairs buzz off and only Thandeka is screaming. Mathabo has probably accepted her fate and let her heart kill her faster. Thandeka’s scream gets softer and softer and then there’s silence.

Time of death: 09H32am.

I’m already late for work, but I need my husband this morning. The kids are on school holidays and the plan is to work from Venda for the duration of the school holidays. Tom is quite big on Rofhiwa being a true Venda woman. Khanyisa has no problem being on that journey too. But I low-key enforce some isiZulu things – such as the language – because Khanyisa is a Mbatha and she needs to know that even though Tom seems to forget that.

I’m using this week to wrap what I should in person as I’ll be working virtually for the next two weeks when we are in Venda.

I have made Thando my business manager. That girl is good. She was a brilliant PA, but she had so much more potential and she’s very clued up. I promoted her and made her my business manager. She sits with the managers now as well, but we work very closely together and she spends a lot of her time in my office. I’m leaving a lot in her hands as I’m headed to Venda. I’ll still be available virtually, but she will be my eyes and body in the office.

I step out of the shower and find Thomas already getting dressed. I walk up to him naked and I tap his shoulder as I stand behind him. He turns around and looks at me. He smiles at me.

“I need you”, I tell him.

“Say no more”, he says and he carries me up and puts me on the bathroom sink.

He thrusts inside of me in this position and I keep my legs tight around his waist. I was so pissed off when I saw Khotso and it did sting me a bit when I saw that he has moved on and that everything he said to me that time he was in Venda suddenly doesn’t exist anymore. That bastard never loved me! He never loved me!

Thomas carries me to the walk-in closet and bends me over into the cupboard. My hands are against the wall of the wardrobe and be thrusts inside of me. I am already moaning because this is so good. In a weird way, it’s making me heal from everything that Khotso ever made me go through. I wasted five years of my life with that ungrateful brat. He doesn’t deserve a minute more of my thoughts or my tears. Khotso’s chapter in my life is officially shut and I’d be okay if I never saw him again.

I’m screaming now as Thomas grabs me and puts me on his hips. He sits down on one of the ottomans in this walk-in closet and I’m on top of him. I start hopping on top of him. He holds onto my thighs, grabbing my ass every now and then. I wind my hips on top of him and he starts moaning very loudly.

Fikile! Baby! Oh my fuck!”

As he says this, I wind and grind on his dick until I reach my happy ending that has me grabbing onto my own breasts and screaming.

But…

Thomas Ramaru is not done.

He takes me to bed and finishes his business in a missionary position and when he reaches his happy ending, he seals the moment with a kiss on my lips.

My body is shaking and my heart is racing. Even his Michael Kors smart watch tells us that his heart rate indicates that he’s just had one hell of a workout session.

He rolls off me and lies next to me.

“The things that you make me do, Mr Ramaru… the things that you make me feel…”

He laughs and says, “My knees are feeling it. I’m getting too old to be keeping up with explosive women”.

I laugh aloud.

“Well, you have one woman for the rest of your life. I’ll finish those knees for you if you ever forget that.”

“These threats so early in the morning, Mrs Ramaru. Hai bo!”

We both laugh.

“Don’t go into the office today. We will stay here with the girls for the day.” He says.

“Babe, we are already taking them to Venda in two days’ time. I need to make sure that the company is still standing when we get back – as you have to do as well, baby. Besides, I have a surprise for you that you need to sign off before you dash out.”

He turns his body towards me and I have his full attention. He is smiling from ear to ear and is as curious as a five-year-old.

“I’m not telling you right now.” I say as I laugh.

“Come on, baby. No secret is good for marriage”, he says.

I laugh aloud. He is such a sneaky old man.

“No!” I say as I laugh and jump off the bed. He tries to catch me, but I’m too quick for him.

“Baby!” He yells as I laugh at him.

I quickly lotion myself, get dressed, and apply my makeup then I head back into the bedroom. He is dressed in his suit already and is spraying on his cologne. I quickly put on some of my Dior perfume oils.

“So, my surprise”, he says, still smiling at me.

“I’ll bring it to your office. What time are you and your executive team available for a quick meeting?”

He keeps staring at my ass and I wore this dress on purpose. I want him to have me in this outfit imprinted on his mind all day.

“That dress is very distracting. You can’t have me in a business meeting dressed like that”, he says.

It’s honestly a simple and body-hugging white professional dress.

Now he’s rubbing my ass.

“2pm okay?” I propose.

He kisses me and says, “I need you. Look at what you’ve done to him”.

“Him” is his penis.

I giggle.

“Please. I can’t even think straight.”

The minute I say okay, he rips my dress off my body. Be probably did that on purpose. Now I definitely cannot wear it to work.

I arrive at work at 10:30am. Now I must lie and say that I had a meeting with a client on the other side of the city. Thando – my real MVP – has sorted out my meetings this morning. She even manages my PA very well and she remains on top of things. I had to get a small token of appreciation on my way here just to say thank you. I start at her office before I head upstairs to my office. Everyone on this floor seems a bit scared to see me. This is my company. What the hell is their issue?

I knock on Thando’s door then walk in. She’s with a man. Her man. Okay.

“Hey boss”, she greets me.

“I’ll be on my way”, the boyfriend says.

“No, please. Don’t leave on my account. Really. I just wanted to say thank you so much for holding the fort for me this morning. I completely lost track of time. I picked up some flowers and chocolate on my way just to say thanks”, I say as I hand her flowers and chocolate.

“Thanks so much, Fikile. I was just doing my job, you know. You didn’t have to.” Thando says.

“I believe in rewarding and acknowledging great performance as much as I punish and dismiss bad performance.” I say.

She smiles at me.

“I’ll leave you to your day and I’ll be locked up in my office if you need anything. I know you were in from 6am today – I saw all your emails flying in. You are welcome to knock off at 3pm when we leave Ramaru Construction. You don’t have to drive back here”, I say.

She’s extremely excited.

I leave and make my way to the office.

I’m proud of Thando. She’s a hardworking individual and she always delivers. She could have a million things happening in her private life, but she will show up at work and perform. I need her to know that she’s appreciated around here. I saw that she has finally bought herself her first car – a Mercedes Benz. It’s nice to know that I pay her very well. Plus, her man is a doctor chile! Lalela! Baby girl is on the upgrade and I love to see it! I’m here for her wins.

I am drowned in work for another couple of hours. By the time I lift my head to my phone ringing, I hear Thando shouting at Millicent – my PA. I like how Thando manages her. She is training Millicent to be as effective as she was. I usually walk out and I find exactly what I need where I need it. So Thando’s strategy clearly works. My secretary is also managed by Thando. She doesn’t get it as much as Millicent, but she gets it too. Thando knows how to really make people do their jobs and I love it.

I answer my phone as my hubby is the one phoning me.

“Hello husband”

“Hello wife. How are you?”

“I’m okay, baby. How are you?”

“I’m awesome. My PA just wanted to know how many people are coming so she could set up the boardroom for us?”

“And she couldn’t call my PA? They call each other for everything.”

“I just wanted an excuse to talk to my wife and see if I cannot suss out information about this surprise. My executive team is asking questions. But fortunately, they are all scared of me, so they’ll come to the meeting because I told them to.”

We both laugh at this.

“There will be six of us coming, my love. Trust me, with this surprise, you are going to want to fuck me on the window in our bedroom that looks over the entire city.”

“Don’t give me any ideas now”, he says and we both laugh.

Thando walks into my office and says, “Boss, we need to get going. There’s an hour delay on the N12 so we need enough time to get to Ramaru Construction on time. I have everything that we need.”

I give her a thumbs up then tell Thomas that I’m leaving the office.

“Baby, have you eaten? Should I order you and Thando some food for when you get here?”

I quickly walk up to my door and ask Thando what she would like to have for a late lunch. She tells me grilled chicken and vegetables. She’s trying to lose weight. I tell Thomas then place my order of a watermelon, grapes and pineapple salad with grilled chicken on the side.

We meet up with the company that we are helping seal a deal with Ramaru Holdings as a whole. I organised for his brothers to get here as well and judging from Tom’s missed calls and messages, they’ve arrived. Ramaru Holdings is the group company that the Ramaru Brothers own. Then it has four branches – one for construction, one for hotels and lodges, one for restaurants and one for insurance. With Covid happening, the hotels and lodges branch, the restaurants branch and the insurance branch has taken one hell of a financial hit. The insurance branch wasn’t doing well anyway. The construction branch – which Thomas runs – had to bail out the other three branches and they’ve been bailing them out for over a year now. This has put immense pressure on Thomas and his team to get more business aggressively because a large portion of their budget has to go to bailing out the other three companies. It’s at a point now where people will start losing jobs.

I’ve been helping then with a lot of the deals that they seal, but this is not what they need. We found an insurance company that has been operating for years and the owners want to sell it because they want to retire. They had inherited it from their parents who had inherited from their parents who had inherited it from their parents. Generational wealth I tell you. This insurance company is a huge and reputable company that is trusted and has strong brand identity. As my gift to Thomas, I bought the company for Ramaru Holdings. It will merge with the insurance element of the Group Holdings and by taking on the customers that this company already has, Ramaru Insurance will be boosted quite well.

I pitch this to the executives and I can just see Thomas overwhelmed with joy. His brothers are paying close attention and reading all the ownership documents in front of them in disbelief.

I then pitch how we are going to sell Ramaru Holdings as an entity, incorporating the restaurants, the hotels and the lodges as well. We are going to make them one thing and not separate entities. I tell them that my company will operate as a marketing group function for them. So, they’ll have their marketing people in the respective companies as a localized version of what we will be doing at a group level. Our presentation is received with applauds and great relief. People’s jobs will be saved. The insurance company asked us to take on their staff and we had no objections to that, so we will have a bigger workforce.

After the meeting, there is an actual celebration at Thomas’ company. The news have now hit the media and there is a press conference that Thomas is now attending with his brothers. My team organised this, naturally. I mean… who are we?

After the press conference, I let Thando know that all went well because I let her leave early. When Thomas is done rubbing shoulders and making nice, we go to his office.

“Did I do well?” I ask.

“You did great, my love. I don’t even know how to thank you”, he says as he kisses me.

His brothers barge into his office without knocking. They don’t even care that we were kissing, they are just opening expensive drinks and talking next steps regarding the business.

“I’m going home to climb on top of my wife. You can have your meeting though. Goodnight”, Thomas says as we leave the office.
