Episode 28

2010It's finally after school. It's been a long day and I'm extremely exhausted. This week was test week and test week is just painful. You write a minimum of two pre-exam papers per subject from Monday to Friday. If you do not perform well during test week, your parents are called in and are informed that you are in danger of failing. No one wants that kind of pressure going into the exams. I just finished writing my chemistry paper...

We've been called in by the bishop to make our way to one of the church’s warehouses that is located at the Tholoana Kingdom female prison. Yes, the church has – what we call – execution warehouses in every prison. But those who turn on us when inside die inside those very warehouses. I left Tlali...

My mother, Ati and I have decided to spend Christmas at Reitumetsi's and Suzi's house for Christmas. We arrived yesterday, on Christmas Eve and slept over, waking up to Christmas Day today. My dad is somewhere in hell doing the devil's work. He promised he'd spend Christmas with us, but when we had to leave, he had plans with the local tavern so Christmas is without him this year. Tumi's and Suzi's house is beautiful. I have never been here before....

"Fikile! Fikile!" This loud yelling is followed up with a bang on my door. What in the actual fuck?! I pull the blanket over my head and try to zone the noise out. "Fikile! Hai bo! Fikile! Wake up and open this door!" I open one eye just to inspect where I am. I need to understand why I am being bothered at 05H30am and being demanded to open the door to MY room. "Fikile!" "Fuck off!" I finally respond. "Hai wena! Open this door! The children need to print their projects and the...

Hmmm…It's been a...

I don’t even know what to make of the distance anymore. He doesn’t touch me and with me having to stay away from the royal house because there is a new baby, I cannot just show up anymore and demand answers from him. He missed our doctor’s appointment for...
